I am a reckless driver

Ok.  This is what my latest adventure has been.  Driving school!  Yep!  I had to go to get my ticket dismissed.  What?  Oh yeh.  All those trips back and forth from NC to VA I was bound to get caught.  I like to drive fast.  The state of Virginia is VERY hungry, especially the traffic cops.  And reckless!!!!  My ticket was for RECKLESS driving!!!  Me!  I have never had a ticket in my life (good thing) and I am far from reckless.  I don't tailgate.  God forbid anyone takes my space!  I don't weave in and out of traffic or run red lights.  I go with the flow, stay with in line with the other cars and try not to ever drive over 80 mph.  oops!  In Virginia, 80 mph is reckless.  I didn't know that!  And ignorance of the law is no excuse!  Blah!

So, I went to court Tuesday and the judge was very nice.  To me, that is.  I saw the woman that had waited in line ahead of me taken to jail.  She had driven on a suspended license.  Yikes!  And, I waited patiently and quietly to be called and I was dead last!  I saw hundreds of cases that were so dumb, all I could say is Virginia needs money and that is why they pull so many people over.  And I saw some DUIs.  Driving without an inspection sticker.  Lots and lots of speeding.  Running red lights.  And stop signs.  Following too close.  Anything and everything you could possibly imagine.  Then me.  I have never had a ticket before.  Basically all the judge said to me is "do you want to go to driver's school?', and I said "yes sir", and my ticket was dismissed, pending court costs and delivery of my certificate.  I waited 4 hours for those 2 minutes!  ohhhh, my sore, tired butt.

Driving school was good.  I think I may even have learned something.  And the teacher called me sweet and motherly when he used me as an example of someone that you would not expect to pull a gun out and shoot you because I was cut off, or given the finger, or some such road rageous thing.  Nice. 

Lesson learned?  Perhaps.  But, I still like to drive fast.......
