Joining the IV Team

It seems I have finally been offered a position that is not only using my IV skills, but paying me what I am worth.  Well, almost.  It is the first time in a while that I have had a raise in salary instead of a drop when changing jobs.  I will not be slinging chemo, and I will miss that.  But, I will be starting IVs all day long, day in and day out, and that is one of my best skills as a nurse.  I am not a one stick wonder, but close.  Patients used to ask for me sometimes, but then, they all seem to have their fav nurses.  The best thing to hear is "I didn't even feel that!"  Nice.  What else?  Ack!  I will have to work every other weekend and holidays.  Blah.

We are house/apartment/condo hunting this Sunday.  It is actually wide open as to whether we will buy or rent, but one thing we agree upon, we need maintenance free.  Neither of us is willing to do the upkeep on a house and yard any more, and there are no kids involved (except grand kids) so, we are downsizing and living out of boxes until we are both retired and move to Florida.  Sound like a plan?  Disney World!!!!!!  Yes!!!!

So, I start 11/22 and will make the HUGE commute until we find a better living arrangement.  Who knows, we may just stay here.  We still have a lot to think about.  Moving closer to the beach is kinda nice, but there are hurricanes!!!!!!  lol  Ahhh, my life still has its twists and turns, and it keeps things interesting.  Enuf said.   For now.
