The Never Ending Story

My life is so full of twists and turns lately.  I do NOT start my new job today.  Why?  Because they were unable to do a criminal check on me in time.  WTF?  I can tell them.  You won't find anything!  Not even a whisper!  But, they have a new person that is very "detailed" (AKA nitpicky) and changed the process from a 24-48 hour turn around to 8-10 days.  Yikes!  I was informed, by a very apologetic recruiter that she had to delay myself and several others from starting orientation today because of this.  Now, I have to wait until they call me, hopefully, within a week or so.  In the meantime?  I am STILL unpacking, putting away, sorting out things that are duplicates, and becoming more and more domestic.  I find that I have missed that part of my life, cuz I never had the time.  Now, I cook, take care of a beautiful house, spend time with family and friends, and wait for the man to come home so I can greet him at the door with a martini.  Um, actually a tall glass of cherry coke with lots of ice. 

I missed Father's Day here on this blog.  I was busy celebrating with my new family.  And, it was my daughter's (new daughter!) birthday.  So, I made my very first coconut cream pie, per her request, and it turned out great!  Well, all except the crust.....  But it was still a big hit.  She is pregnant so I got her some maternity clothes and a nice book about being pregnant and what to expect.  Well, this is her 4th child, so she actually knows what to expect, but it is still a good read.  And the little girl that is the apple of my man's eye has asked if I can be her grandmother.  I told her yes, and to call me Mammaw like my other gsons do.  Wow!  I always wanted a granddaughter.  And she is cute as a bug's ear, too. 

So.......back to yesterday....
