It has about 125,000 miles on it, so it is supposed to last a bit longer, yes? Well, during my routine oil change it was discovered that I need a new catalytic converter and all the wonderful things that go with it. It will cost over $1000, which I'm not even sure the car is worth. I asked him, so, when will I know when it is completely gone? He told me "when the car just stops". Yikes! That's not good! All I wanted was an oil change!!!
Hubby drives a Prius and luvs it. It has all the gadgets, power this and that, satellite radio, GPS, etc. Mine is a base car with no power anything. I still "roll" my windows up and down! I have a real key and lock the car by hand, not with a button. And it is a 5 speed stick shift. I hate automatics. I like to driiiiive a car, if ya know what I mean.
So, spend $1000+ and commit to keeping the car for a while? Or spend a goshawful amount of money and get some fancy thing that has too many gadgets and NO GEAR SHIFT!!!!!!! What to do.......

Cars still come in manual, so don't let that scare you.
