Saturday morning gym rant

Saturday morning at the gym.  I have one complaint.  No, not that it's hard work or lifting makes my muscles hurt the next day.  That's a given.  It's the swimmers!  Ya, the ones, mostly older women that have, um, a few extra pounds on them, that do their swimming "aerobics" at the same time that I do mine.  Not swimming.....I do weights and treadmill.  I have got to say, that these women are the slobs of the world!  When they are there, everything is WET!!  Wet towels thrown on the floor.  The carpet is actually soaked.  The showers are a mess.  I know, showers are wet and water falls all over the place.  But!  One can tidy things up a bit for the next person.  NOT!  There are tracks of wet footprints everywhere.  The scale has a puddle where your feet are supposed to go.  Doesn't that add weight?  How heavy is water, anyways?  They wrap towels around them like they are trying to hide something, or at least be a little modest.  Well, the towels don't hide a thing, cuz they are not big enuf!  Yikes!  I really try not to look.....

Now, I have to give these ladies credit for seeking out some sort of exercise that they can tolerate.  And, if they are indeed there to lose weight, or even just to try to live a healthier lifestyle, great!  But, if you can't bend over to pick up the wet towel you dropped on the floor, don't drop it!  And, find a way to quit tracking up the entire locker room.  Um, said towel could be used after the pool and before reentry to the locker room.  D'oh!  This whole wet, swimmer thing is a huge pet peeve of mine.  Almost enuf to make me stop going to the gym on Saturdays.  I wonder how they ever get the carpet dry?  I hate wet socks!

I understand where you're comming from Pearly, but it sounds to me like they are'nt the problem. The problem in this paticular case lies with the gym and it's staff. These women pay good money to use the facilities there, and last time I checked they were not the ones being paid to keep the place clean. Instead of taking out your anger on these women who are patrons just like yourself. Instead you should be dressing down the staff for the hygenic and lapses in safety with such disregard for their pool and locker room areas.
