Thanksgiving

It is Thanksgiving morning, and, for the first time in many years, I'm not cooking!  Yay!  We have been invited to our daughter's inlaws for a "whole family" dinner.  The littlest booboo, my grandson Adtler, has been with us all week.  So we will pass him back to his parents later today.  It feels sorta strange to not be chained to the kitchen this morning.  So here I sit, with my laptop, Dragon Tales on the TV, wondering what bargains there might be on various websites.  Christmas shopping officially starts tomorrow, and I do almost all of it via internet.  I hate the crowds and commercialism of Christmas.

This is a day to think about what you are thankful for.  My list is probably the same as most people.  I no longer have my parents since my father died last year.  But, hopefully, they are together now, so I am thankful for that.  I have my daughter and her little family close by.  Like I said, the littlest one is very, very close by.  My husband is still with me, 12 year cancer survivor.  I have my health (so far).  My son (another story) was placed in a wonderful adult foster home last year.  He is happy there, which makes me happy.   My brothers and sisters are in various places around the country, all living their lives.  My family is growing considerably now that their children are adults and having children of their own.  I have lost count of how many great-nieces and nephews I have.  Other things?  There are quite a few, since I am the eternal optimist.  Too much to list here.  It is a great day!

Happy Thanksgiving to all at 20ld2play!
