Tidbits from Real Life

Ouch!  I woke up sometime in the middle of the night and jumped right out of bed!  Charley Horse!  Wow!  It still hurts.  I have to make myself go to the gym this morning, cuz I will use just about any excuse not to go.  A very sore calf muscle is pretty good!  I've been stretching it and moping about it, and it is only a little better.  Booooo

Hubby is still sleeping a lot.  He says he doesn't feel sick, just very tired.  Fatigue, lethargy, malaise.....  He is actually a bit embarrased that he is so inactive and in bed so much.  Well, YOU ARE STILL SICK!!!!!  I just hope this does not turn into a chronic thing.  It sure could.  Or, knock him down a peg or two.  He is already trying to get me to mow the lawn.  WTF?  Not my lawn!  That's his baby.  And it is 100 degrees out there.  I have picked up all the inside stuff again, laundry, cooking, etc.  He's luving that!  Well, it's not so bad.  I get to eat what I want instead of man food.  Nice.  And, I don't wash the towels with my work uniforms.  Also nice.  Picking lint at work is not cool.  He has been the house-husband for many years, so I have been off the hook for most things, except earning the money in the family.  It's not so bad relearning my domestic side again.

Adtler is coming this week!  I will have the little guy for 3 days.  The bad part of the story is that big brother, Shayde, flunked 10th grade!  He is the babysitter during the summer.  So, he is going to summer school and we are babysitting again.  Shayde is a very bright young man.  It is a long story how he managed to fail 10th grade, but not an entire surprise.  I would like to get my hands on him!  He is very well behaved, and does not do the usual teenage things to get into trouble.  That may be part of the problem.  Well, I don't want him to get into trouble, do drugs, drink, smoke, etc.  Get a girl pregnant!  OMG!  He is sooooo introverted that he can't even ask for help when he needs it.  He comes by it naturally, ya know.  But, it is very bad with him, to the point of affecting his life.  He either needs a smack up the side of his head, or therapy, one or the other.  I'll do the smacking, cuz I understand him more than he knows.  Ahhhh, real life....

Hmmmm...I'm feeling a bit run down, too can you come over and wash/clean/cook/garden here too? Jk, hoping for a quick, full recovery! As for Shayde, just keep at it and never give up. My daughter had a very similar 9th grade and ended up graduating a year early and is now aggressively pursuing her career. doc

I didn't know Shayde was Tyler's age. Is he driving? One of the families we are friends with is having issues with their oldest son, who is also 16. Dad is a prominent physician, and extremely intelligent (Johns-Hopkins, Vanderbilt, the whole 9 yards). His son made a D in Chemistry and an F in Algebra this past year. Dad was furious, but what can you do? He's a smart kid, just lazy and unmotivated. I won't brag about how Tyler did this year. I think this is one of the toughest ages for boys. At 16 girls are much more mature, both emotionally and physically, so boys have several issues to deal with in that regard. Plus their hormones are raging out of control. Ah, the good ol' days! pH

Ya know, real life really can be a pain at times. Games are so much easier, die, respawn, try again. Life should be so easy. Glad you caught hubby's fever soon enough to be treatable! That's really got to be scary. Give him my best and tell him he's got lots of prayers and good thoughts headed his way. Kids, as you know, can be a pain too! But hopefully he'll get his act in gear after this setback.
