Time flies.....

This morning I take my car in to get the A/C fixed.  Thank god!  It remains 100 degrees during the day, 75-80 at night.  Blah.  We are looking at a cold wave end of the week.  High of 92!  woohoo!

I have been thinking about what I was doing last year at this time.  Time goes by so fast!  I guess I was getting ready to go to on a short road trip for a nursing conference.  I met my friend there, and we had a good time.  Unfortunately, stuff happens and we are sorta out of touch now.  I miss her.  But she has gone her way and I have gone mine.  Sad.  Maybe I'll send her an email......

Speaking of road trips!  I am ready to start planning my next one.  Well, have already thought about a few places I'd like to go, people I'd like to see.  But gas!  WTF!!!!  Yes, my car gets great mileage, and that helps.  But, really!  Do I have to take a loan out at the bank every time I fill up the tank?  And, I know this subject has been hashed and rehashed by everyone and his brother, but, the price of EVERYTHING has to go up, cuz gas price is so high.  I have put a down payment on a cruise that is an anniversary sort of thing.  5 years ago, my niece invited the whole family to her wedding aboard a cruise ship.  Well, 60 of us showed up.  Now, she wants to do it again.  I put it off, not knowing for sure if I even wanted to go.  Personal stuff, ya know, not the cruise itself.  Now, I find out they are charging a daily "fuel fee", which increases the overall cost of the 5 day cruise by about $100 apiece.  So, I can add....that is $200!  And the flight to get there!  I can't even find one that is even close to the times I need.  WTF?  Fly out at 6:00 am?????  And return trip not until almost 8:00 pm?  That's just not right.  Alternative?  Drive to Florida.....spend the night at a hotel, cruise the next day.  Crap.  I can't even think which would cost more or be more inconvenient.  It's supposed to be fun!  I'm thinking of cancelling.  Even if I have to eat my down payment.  Blah!
