What Day is This?

I know it's Tuesday cuz it's Luke day.  His 2nd day, actually.  Tomorrow I head for Ottawa.  Hear that J-Cat?  I AM coming.  I have met the most wonderful people so far.  It is very interesting to see how others live and what they do with their time.  And how good they are to me, welcoming me into their homes and treating me like a queen.  If people hadn't been feeding me, I'd have lost 10 lbs by now!  Eek!  Why bother to eat when you have places to go, people to see......  Every single person I have met has had their own lifestyle, different from the others.  I have learned a lot about them.  Don't worry, I keep secrets!!

Canada has brought me back to my childhood, in a funny way.  It's the accent.  I have lost that "question mark" at the end of the sentence and some other nuances cuz I have lived in NC for almost 20 years.  I'm more apt to say y'all and such, but now I find myself speaking with that "lilt" to my voice that I recognize as Michigan/Canada.  I didn't realize that's what it was, many years ago, when a coworker asked me if I was from Michigan.  How did she know?  The accent, she said.  I don't have an accent!   Oh yes, I do, subtle, but there.  Hmmmm.  It's back.  No one will recognize me when I get home.  Um, if I get home.

It is cold, but sunny today.  When it warms up a little (to 10 C, brrrrrr), I will get to know Peterborough on foot.  I really need to get off my rear end.  So, we will be out there, enjoying the c-c-c-old and sun, and just have a relaxing day.

I find it amazing the amount of sleep I am getting.  With no one to bother me, or any timetable to keep, I have sorta lost that early morning insomnia thing.  And I have become more flexible about bedtime.  I have no idea what time it is, most of the time, cuz of the changing time zones.  I'm back in the east now, tho, so it won't change any more.  Whew.
