Definition:
a: according with, constituting, or not deviating from a norm, rule, or principle
b: conforming to a type, standard, or regular pattern
That basically says nothing. It is rather vague, because you have to know what is normal to define normal. Ok, there's rules and principles. And the 2nd definition, conforming to what? I am a bit rebellious, so if there is a type, standard, or regular pattern, I am very apt to try to do it another way, whatever it is. When I first became a nurse, we had to wear white uniforms. Yuk! So, I wore a red belt. What? No, there was no rule for belts. When everyone was swooning over Elvis, I decided he wasn't worth it and deviated from the "norm" by totally ignoring his music. I've mentioned my family many times. Having one sister confined to a wheelchair, another mentally retarded, and another paranoid schitzophrenic....but when she was younger she was just weird. Was this normal? Ahhh, for me, it certainly was. So, what is the rule, principle, or regular pattern that can be applied here? More food for thought....
I want to be normal, but I don't know what that is. I'm working on some things. Like, The Plan.... Well, #1 starts Monday. I am going back to "normal" full time work, and bringing home a "normal" paycheck. That is starting to feel good, although I was worried that it would not and procrastinated for a long time. Is my life, on the whole, normal? I think not. I don't mind so much, cuz I have never really done things the way they were expected of me. I luv life and I want to live it my way! Those that are trying to "normalize" me should think again. Life is too short to waste it on the mundane. Where am I going with this? Hell, I dunno... I just wanted to try to define "normal" and find that I cannot.
Mood for the day? Let's dance!
