MP or not 2 MP?

Homefront: Should developers have games that include MP and have a shorter SP campaign or allow you to purchase a title that just has one or the other?

So far I haven't had much time in the single player story for Homefront, but the multi-player part of the game is severely hacked with a few thousand having 120000000 in experience points and at level 75 even though they have 2-5hrs in the game. Doesn't anyone at Microsoft see this? Campers aren't always a developers problem and this game has these people in spades, but players knowing exactly where I am and their weapon locks on to me instantly across the map (which are hugh) is suspect. Getting sniped with a pistol? I'd say that guy is cheating. The online aspect is great, but I'm just run down from the people that change the game, cheat and ruin the experience. Cod MW is the worst with MW2 a very close second. Black Ops always has one guy playing HARECORE  while you're not. I guess I'll never understand the point of having a hack. You're no longer playing the game if you have an AimBot with that cheat doing all the work. What's the point since these people aren't really killing anyone?

Games with SP only? 12-16hrs in length.

Bottom line: When I hear people ask developers, "Will there be multi-player?"...............I cringe.

I more or less agree with your blog. A lot of stuff is fubar on-line and multi-player is just one of those of things. Even co-op is fubar. Especially when someone joins your game with cheats on, knowing full well that it locks you out of achievements... Since gaming is my hobby since the early 80's of last century, SP is not really a downer for me. The better the SP, the more fun I have. The fact that many games sacrifice SP for MP that everybody bitches about, is a pount of irritation for me.

Look at the majority of the people who use hacks. Kids who think their online rank or kill /death ratio or their boosted prestige impresses people. Nothing better than reading forums where they cry about losing their rank or getting banned. Its too bad more of them don't get caught.. Spoiled little shits.

Yeah, I might be a minority, but I actually buy almost every game for its SP first anymore and then worry about MP later if I ever get that far. I bet I have bought 10 FPS games in the last 2 years and have only gotten online for COD and Halo. Maybe its because of my fucked up schedule, or maybe its because I just have recently remembered how much fun I can actually have by myself in SP. My favorite games of the last 12 months have included RDR, ME2, FO:NV, and Dragon's Age. All games that I have played only the SP on. As far as I am concerned, it will take a pretty phenomenal FPS to get me back in MP consistently and the COD titles just arent it.
