I have embarked on the journey to acquire my CCNA.

I need to know the reality.  How can this cert help my life?

Thanks

It might help if you already have IT experience. If you are switching careers and don't have any experience in networking, then forget it.

I am in a unique setting. I have been on the layer 1 side of things for the past 12 years or so. The company I work for has a special division for one of our customers. That customer has at least a hundred core switches and hundreds of access switches. I could become part of the team that manages all of these devices. I was kind of looking long term. Trouble is that I cannot leave the company I am working for to take a job for the company I would be contracting for. I figure that I will be grossly underpaid. But I figure with the cert (and maybe a few others) and about 3-5 years in this environment I would be able to write my own ticket.

I write my own ticket. I think you should get your CNA so you can work with Tom.

Have I ever told you how much I hate Hospitals? Well I really don't like them.
