Shared on Sat, 05/21/2011 - 09:27April 19th, the second day of GOW3 beta, I wanted to remove my credit card# from my xboxlive account after hearing about Spooky, my nephew and STEPTO (head of xboxlive online security) getting their live accounts stolen all within a month or so of each other and of course all the other poor bastards getting hit as well. So I called up support and asked nicely of course,
Customer Support: Sorry you have to cancel account.
Me: No just remove cc#
CS: Nope cancel your account, but I would advise against it since you still have 8months left.
Me: Really? I have to completely cancel? No credit , no codes to redeem the rest of my subsciption?
CS: Yes!
Me: Fuck U Microsoft! Cancel my account!
Since then been talking to others, and they thought that was bullshit seeing as they had accounts and didn't need to enter cc#.
So I called back, told the new customer support agent the story and wanted an explaination. They also wondered why I was not given credit for the rest of my subscription. So they put in a request for a subscription token for me. I also mentioned my missing out on the GOW3 beta cause of the previous asshat and they noted it in my token request. Hopefully I get some sort of compensation.
Well i get my token hopefully monday. But the whole ordeal, especially with the stories of all the people getting their live accounts stolen and sony getting hacked as well, has left me thinking...
WTF!
