Shared on Sat, 02/07/2009 - 11:49As I'm sitting here installing new drivers for my pod I figured I'd share this little story. When I was at GC last night I went right to the Rumble Room (not realizing the pods were elsewhere) and came upon a used 5-string Warwick fpr $800. When I bought my Ibanez back in September I had messed around with a similar 5 string model and couldn't really get used to the size of the neck, so I passed. This time? The neck size was no problem. In fact, it felt pretty good. So I sat there for about 20 minutes messing with it and debating on whether or not I should get the Warwick instead of the pod.
Ultimately I decided to pass because at the moment I don't really need a 5 string, plus I have already decided that my next bass is going to be an American made Fender Precision bass. Not sure on how many strings yet, but by the time I save up the $1200 or so I'll need I should have that sorted out. :)
Anyway, I've been messing with the pod for a good part of the morning, and its pretty wild. Its mostly greek to me, the manual especially, but I've been having a good time trying the different amp/cabinet model combos and playing with some effects. Whats nice is that as long as I'm using the headphones I don't need to run it through an amp. So I could actually get myself a cheap guitar and run it through this pod as well, using the headphones for an amp. Good deal.
So now I'm going to go back to screwing with the pod. I'll probably come up for air in a bit, but for now this is a great time. :D
