Yay

Made it through the leg workout today without crippling myself, so as the subject says...YAY!

I eliminated the presses with my feet pointed outward.  That's done to hit the inner part of the quad which is traditionally weaker, and the more I think about it the more I think that this is what caused my issue.  I'm not using crazy heavy weight for it but I was using the same amount of weight I was using for my standard presses, and I think I overdid it and the tear was a result of that.  The good news is this amounted to basically a warning shot, I was still able to walk and didn't (or at least haven't so far) require any medical attention.

I'm still going ahead with my current plan of taking weekends off entirely to rest my legs.  I think the next 2 weekends for sure and then I'll re-evaluate everything.  If I'm feeling stronger (or more courageous) after that I'll do Saturday cardio sessions and rest on Sundays regardless.  I think at that point I'll re-introduce the second set of presses but reduce the weight I use by quite a bit to build the quad up in the area I'm trying to hit.

Sure smoking is bad but people who don't smoke are dying every day of nothing. At least smokers have stuff like Iron Lungs to look forward to.

PM me some info on it, might be interested in it myself. 10 pounds though sounds like water weight. Not that you didn't loose real weight too but usually the results of a diet the first two weeks are higher because of water weight. But i'd be interested in reading more about it.

Be careful though, in a healthy way you shouldn't lose more than 2 pounds a week...water weight is different at first though.\r \r Congrats

After reading about this diet and what it entails.....how in the world could this be healthy? 500 calories a day? And you have to make your body think it's pregnant? Does not seem safe at all and it's very doubtful you would be able to keep the weight off after going off the diet...and that is what I am reading from other people who have tried this before. \r \r I'm with you, I would love to be able to lose that kind of weight that quickly.....really love it!! But I'm not sure this is the way to go about it. Let me know if you can keep it up and keep it off. :) If it does work for the long term I would most certainly try it as well. \r \r Good luck!

It seems to me that my spirit is always willing, but my body is not. With age comes wisdom (not strength). :) Be careful and keep up the good work.

Ain't that the truth? I gotta keep reminding myself that I'm 20 years older than I think I am. But for all the self-effacing I do I have to admit that I'm making a lot of progress and gains. I'm not where I want to be, but I am definitely on my way to that goal. The closer I get the harder I want to work to get there, but I have to keep reminding myself that through rest the rewards of hard work are reaped.\r \r Now I just need a job and I'm in a good place. By summer I should have dropped another 50lbs at least and increased my lean body mass considerably.\r \r How's your knee doing? Have you been able to get back into your program full swing?
T
TKBosss·
Yeah, I'm back at it. My knee is still a little sore after running this weekend but not injured like before. I am resting it like I should. I'm usually two days on running and two days off to make sure I don't re-injure it.
