Allergic Reactions suck

Last night at my sister's house, we were having a gathering to celebrate  our mothers birthday. About 10 minutes into the party one of my kids developed a bump/rash on his forehead. First I thought ok he rubbed or scratched his head, no big deal. Boy was I wrong.

We ate dinner. And the bump/rash had spread to his chin and started to move to his cheeks, neck. My wife assumes it may be an allergic reaction, But to what? He has been around cats and dogs before. My sister has a Persian, He's normally around Tabby cats(could there be a difference when it comes to allergies?). So she takes him outside and removes his shirt, I stay inside and help cleanup.

Once I am done cleaning I go outside to check on him. His condition was 200% worse, now he has clusters of Hives on his face and neck. We say a quick goodbye and hit the road to the Urgent Care center. So now I have to drive 12 Miles running red lights with my flashers on. My wife is panicing and to be honest I was too but I tried to remain calm for my wifes sake. My son is strapped in his carseat and he's not talking, sweating, and looks scared. Maybe he was frightened from the way we were reacting or maybe he was in shock. Its not a comforting feeling when you feel that there isnt anything you can do for your child.

Afterwaiting for the doctor(5min) they gave him some Benedryl and a does of steroids. the symptoms went down and we were sent home with a prescription. He now has to take the steroid for 3 days. Then we have to consult our Pediatrition for further advice.

Scary night.

So glad to hear all turned out OK. I've been through this type of thing before. They never could figure out what was the cause. I'm good now. JCat said PB. It might be something to look at. Even if your child didn't eat PB, they put nuts in many things, and it's oil. Don't test this on him. Wait until you see the Dr. Keep him away from nut products and all nut oils.
