Shared on Fri, 09/04/2009 - 22:52So i started a new job back in july. its nothing fancy, office work at a towing company. its nothing new for me, i did it for years when my uncle owned a company here in st louis. he sold it to a bunch of freaks, i quit, they got in trouble with the FBI. thats the way of the towing world. very dramatic and annoying. but now im at it again. my uncle is the GM for one of the biggest towing firms in st louis, and they say, " we need to bring in people that can help us grow, make us bigger and better." i get a phone call. now dont get me wrong, im good at my job. i have alot of pride and make sure that everything i do is right. but when a company that is 3 times the size of the one i ran for my uncle asks me to be "the guy", it gets a little bit intimidating. i like being the guy, i like the responsibility, but when someone says " this kid can run your buisness and you never have to show up again", thats freaky. it makes you feel small, no matte rhow good you are, because you are looking up at everything praying you dont F up. any way it goes, i love my job, and would recomend anyone that has any type of common sense to get into a field such as this early on, say in college. it gives you diversity into so many areas, customer service, accounting, sales, its jst a good all around buisness to learn at. and besides, when a guy like me with a GED and 4 years in the Navy can do something that makes him enough money to live on comfortably, you just cant go wrong.
