Here is a topic that paints me as a bit of a goober but one that I’m sure will generate much discussion: the idea of having your own theme song. Think about it, you walk into a room and your theme song plays to the amusement or horror of the room’s occupants. It could be the same way as you enter a Halo party; a clan mate could have the room busting out in laughter as he/she enters to ‘Why Can’t We Be Friends’ while yet another clan mate might disturb the party by joining to the strains of ‘The End’ by the Doors. As for me, I’ve had a couple of ideas of what I would like my theme song to be. I could have the ‘Empire’s Theme’ from The Empire Strikes Back but that would be too common and well known for my tastes as well as predictable. Instead, I’ll dip into the archive and say that I would like to enter a Halo party to the tune of ‘Parade of the Charioteers’ from the movie Ben Hur. The music really sets up the chariot race that is soon to follow and is quite a fanfare. I suppose if I had to enter to something with lyrics, I would choose ‘A Little Less Conversation’ by Elvis Presley. It would be interesting to hear what other people would choose for their theme song as the wide variety of folks on this site could make for a very diverse list.

I recently got to participate in a clan match against the fine folks of Division XX as a member of Bravo Unit. The games played were of a very high intensity but also very fun as the mood was kept light. I enjoyed the opportunity to play against some guys I have rarely seen and their skill level presented me with a new challenge. Eventually though, the Old Men Mafia prevailed, with the Bravo and Charlie Units winning to give the OMM a 6 games won and 3 games lost advantage. The matches provided me with some moments that I will remember for a long time. In the middle match, it was a CTF Classic on Beaver Creek with MLG style rules. One of the Div XX guys, Orzo Kahn, despite there being no motion sensor, was crouch walking in our base. I managed to run right up behind him and meleed him right as I said, “Boo”. I suppose it was memorable to for the fact that I could not believe he was crouch walking with motion sensors off. The other highlight of the evening for me was during the MLG Team Ball game on Turf. We had set up shop near the medical tent and I held the ball and shotgun behind the large crate. I paid close attention to my team’s icons and saw the final defender go down, so I dropped the ball to get ready for their attack. For whatever reason, the two guys who came to get the ball must have thought I was dead because I popped out from behind the crate and managed to shotgun them to death before they could respond. In fact, the second guy (I believe it was WMD Urinal Cake) started to shout out ‘He has the Shot’ as I killed him. Anyways, the games made me appreciate what good people we have populating this site and I look forward to any more inter-clan challenges.

Custom Game of the Week: No custom game of the week as I am going to comment on some of my recent experiences with my custom games as I had the chance to be party leader on Sunday for a long period of time. I finally got to run The Amazing Race and it did not go quite as planned because of a little setting known as team multiplier on. It made it much more advantageous to sit at one hill spawn point with two or more guys as two guys could gain a whole minute if they got lucky and nobody was around. The game will definitely get stretched out by taking team multiplier off but hopefully it keeps the action a bit livelier. On a different game, I have discovered that playing Fiesta Grande on Foundation with 10 or more people is a bad idea as the lag seriously crippled almost everyone, except a select few. Gemini would have been a much better map for the number of people the party had. I kind of failed the party last evening by not noticing a team imbalance problem as new members joined and other members dropped out. I also tried to strike a decent balance between objective games and team slayer games; although I will admit that I was in a mood for SWAT style games as the evening wore on. I hope that the fine folks who endured with me throughout the evening will want to experience a Raging Bull-led evening of games again.

I vote that Theme songs are not to be chosen by their owners, but rather a song must be "assigned" to a person - like the "thong song" for Dan, for example :p
