Shared on Tue, 05/16/2006 - 13:49I would like to start off this edition of the Bull Pen by apologizing to BlueStarNF. My apology is because I went a little crazy playing a three team game of SWAT on Ivory Tower on Mother’s Day. We were the Green Team and I was getting a tad annoyed that we were playing a SWAT game with motion sensors on. Anyways, I hop on the elevator on the lowest level and notice that there are red dots swirling around close by. When I get to the second level, BlueStarNF jumps on and despite him being green, I proceed to press the melee button because I rarely see a person get that close to me. Luckily, the melee did not kill him but it certainly freaked him out and more than likely made him mad at me for playing a goober. I did try and make it up to him in the next game as we went on to win a Weakest Link game on Sanctuary; of course, I think there were still hard feelings as he proceeded to kill me a lot in my final game of the day, an Assault game on Turf. Anyways, I do not know if he reads the 2o2p blogs but I hope he will not mind playing on the same team as me in the future. :) ;;Sometimes, I do actually play like the level that is shown, an 18, but truth be told, I’m more like an 18.5 ;) .
I would like once again to call your attention to the impending release of the new Disney/Pixar movie , ‘Cars’. My wife Tracey recently returned home from seeing a movie and mentioned to me that she was busting out laughing at the latest trailer for Cars. That is certainly saying a lot as she is not known to remember the previews. The movie is being directed by John Lasseter, god of computer animation movies. He knows how to create movies that will have timeless humor in them, and not movies that rely on bathroom humor or overdoses of current day satire (I’m looking at you Dreamworks). The fact that Cars gives a liberal nod to the old cartoons about cars, boats, even hats, with eyes and personalities is something I am looking forward to. I wonder how many folks caught the tribute to the old WB cartoon ‘Feed the Kitty’ in the movie Monsters, Inc. Anyhow, I have less than a month to wait for what is the most anticipated movie of the summer, for me anyways.
Custom Game of the Week: I am curious if anybody besides OMM has tried these games. I know a lot of the H2 clans on the site are in love with MLG style rules but I seem to have more fun with goofy games. On that note, here is a goofy game that may actually be a good idea on paper (or not) but could run really poorly in execution. The game is called Ghostbusters, and features, you guessed it, nothing but Ghosts for vehicles. Turn off the Banshee and the Heavy Vehicle but turn turrets on. Give the two teams of players a Sentinel Beam (don’t cross the streams!) and a Magnum (no weapons on map). Let loose on a map such as Coagulation, Zanzibar, or Headlong and bust those Ghosts. I would say set the kill requirements to 50 but also put a 15 minute time limit on the match so the fine folks who do not get Ghosts do not hide like chickens. Note, if you would like to see your custom game featured here, let me know and I’ll give it a whirl to see if it can earn a spot as the custom game of the week (colorful name a big help).
