Shared on Mon, 03/27/2006 - 08:38This is a semi-follow up to the latest edition of the Bull Pen. I believe I had opined on the fact that I seem to do a lot better and elevate my game when I am playing alongside fellow OMM clan-mate Q0047. This is in no doubt corollary to the fact that he is a far superior player to me and has an exemplary record of killing the opposing team no matter what weapon he has; therefore, he allows teammates extra time to make kills and stay alive by eliminating more of the opposition. On the flip side, I find that I can compliment his style very well. I bring this up because of a run of games last evening we had together.
The second game we played together was probably my best of the whole night and will move into the top 3 of all time best Bull performances. It was a SWAT style CTF game with two flags. Due to a faulty setup, the game was ended after a tied first round but I think we would have prevailed eventually. What I am calling your attention to is the total lockdown of one quadrant of the map by yours truly. If you check out the game viewer, you will see a distinct lack of red team icons in the non-shotgun side of the blue area. Move on to medals and there are some medals in there that are extremely rare for me. While it is disappointing that we did not win, somebody has to play defense.
The other game I would like to call your attention to is a game of Pimp My Hog. For most of the game, Blue was down 2 men to Red team. I managed to keep us in it with a spirited effort in the Gauss Hog early on and then Q brought us back by commandeering a tank. I think we could have won that game despite being down 2 men if I had been able to just get one last crack at being the gunner of a Gauss Hog. My driver did a pretty good job of getting me out of harm’s way at just the right moment in time, even if I was trying to do a little bit too much commanding.
Anyways, it was a fun evening of gaming and I look forward to playing with this group of clanmates again.
