I'd pretty much decided to forgo Halo 3 because I was never really a fan of the IP and had really disliked the beta they put out earlier this week. Now comes word that the game's Single Player will have 4 player Co-Op and I'm sold. I thought the 2 player co-op in Gears was great but 4 players playing through a story together sounds like much MUCH more fun.
The only deterrent that could possibly dampen this mood is if the reviews start saying that there's only about 8-10 hours of gameplay in the story. That would have me reconsidering.
In other news... I'm eager for the 25th of August. Blue Dragon is coming out!! I've been looking forward to this title for a long while now. I've always been a huge Final Fantasy fan (Except for X, X-2 and XI) and to have a next-gen game made by the man behind such great games is going to be quite a treat.
Lastly, I've finished playing through Psychonauts Monday night. Thanks to GameTap for providing such a great service and allowing me to finally discover this gem of a game. I don't think I've ever played a game that has made such an immediate and enduring impact on me. Meshing a platformer and an adventure game in one beautifully presented, imaginative package, Double Fine Productions and Tim Shaeffer knocked this one out of the ballpark. I'm on the hunt now to secure an Xbox copy of the game since it's already on the Backwards Compatibility list.
Another big plus is that I was able to play Psychonauts using the 360 controller thanks to the Xbox Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows. Just a bit of controller setup within the game and BAM, I was playing comfortably. For 19.99 cdn, is was something that wasn't worth going without. Another great aspect is that Tomb Raider Legends and Anniversary from GameTap automatically recognize that you're using a 360 controller and the controls are exactly the same as the console version. Now if I could only get achievements for playing it on the PC...
That's about all for me today... Thanks for reading
