Why I love my PSP..

1 - Games for me. None of this Flash-game crap like on the phone.   Also, a complete lack of shovelware clogging up the game selection process.  The RPG selection for this platform is great.    I have Final Fantasy 7, Disgea: Afternoon of Darkness and Persona 3 Portable on mine right now.   Oh.  I also have Little Big Planet on there too.

2 - The media functionality.  I prepped my PSP3000 for my family's road-trip yesterday.   Sony's Media Go software converted all of my daughter's movies I had on my PC and transferred it to the PSP.  DivX, Xvid etc all got converted with no fuss.   No need to mess around with DVD's/DVD players in the car.   Turn on the PSP, select the movie, lock the controls and hand over to kid with a headset.   Done and done.

3 - User-upgradable memory.    I got a 16GB MSProDuo in there and it's fantastic.

4 - User-Replacable Battery.  Bought the enhanced Battery Pack from Amazon.  Just like that I have added 30-40% more gameplay with no fuss and a minor cost (25$).

All in all, it's just a great core gamer's portable device.   I plan on playing it quite a bit next week while on vacation.

This one is a tougher one for me. I don't buy UMD's for my PSP 3000. I despise having to lug around media for a portable gaming system as it defeats the whole portable concept. I also love that the Go is so small when the cnotrols are closed. I would carry that with me everywhere it's so small. I was really interested in the Go when I first saw it but then I heard the price for this thing. At 249, my opinion is that it's a ripoff. If it was the same price as the 3000 or even 199$, it would be a lot more paletable. The fact that Sony still pushed proprietary media cards as opposed to MicroDS is also a sore point. There's also the issue that not all games that come out are available on the PSN on the first day, if at all. Sony has put up a LOT of games for it but if it isn't everything, you're better off having the UMD option. There's also the fact that you could potentially get UMD disks at clearance prices at walmart/retail. No such deals on the PSN.
