I recently watched the first 3 episodes of Firefly. This is one of these shows I heard great things about but never wanted to buy the dvd's without seeing any of it first. Lucky for me I just got netflix as a gift and started watching it. I really like the show so far as, it keeps a decent pace with plenty of action and has my new love. By new love I mean, a girl I will never touch in real-life but is some sweet eye-candy. Her name Jewel Staite, I can't get enough her. Remind me to thank the girlfriend again for my netflixs subscription :)

Firefly is one of my favorite TV series and Serenity I watch all the time. Fox cancelled it because they didnt have faith in the show, and didnt push it, then when it started getting watched, Fox thought they might as well cancel it.. Josh Wedon had a good rant about Fox and the producers. I have hopes he can get the show remade, another movie or perhaps even a real video game (the upcoming MMO will suck, but that is insider info.. ive used the tools they are using, I know the team.. suckage will happen)

Firefly is one of the best series out there. I have DVR'd all of them at one time or another in HD and they are not only well done byt awesome in HD. The movie was also well done. I love the series and wish that they could somehow revive it. It was like Star Wars for tv with more of a western flare. Everything Star Trek and others have failed to be.

Did you hear about this? BBC News http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6517155.stm Serenity named top sci-fi movie Space thriller Serenity has beaten Star Wars to the title of best sci-fi movie in an SFX magazine poll of 3,000 fans. The futuristic release from 2005 was based on the short-lived TV series Firefly. Both were the work of Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon. Star Wars - which Whedon has conceded had "an enormous influence" on Serenity - came second in the survey. Blade Runner was third, followed by Planet of the Apes, The Matrix, Alien and Forbidden Planet. Serenity is about the crew of a space ship of the same name, and at the time of its release, Whedon declared it was a way of showcasing the "gritty" side of the genre.

I agree, Lady, it was an excellent series and movie. I must admit, I'm not sure it would be easy to pick up after the Serenity ending, so sad. But, sure would like to see Josh try!

Firefly was an amazing show. I've watched it almost more than I have Star Wars... You can connect with the characters alot easier than with alot of other shows. My girlfriend got me the box set for X-mas and I made sure she was a very happy woman for that. ;)

I think that Star wars is more Iconic, but plot and writing wise firefly blows it out of the water. The first FOUR (yup, Im including one of the old ones) star wars movies are SO wooden in the dialog. Number two is just painful at some parts. I absolutely love the wit in firefly. It keeps you on your toes. And throws you between emotions. I dont know who makes a batter skallywag, Han or Mal. they are both hot though. lol

I've heard someone call it a space western- very fitting I think. Love the show and movie. Truly sad that it got cancelled. I guess they need to dedicate more time to crap on TV, as if they hadn't already.

One of my favorite shows of all time! And Serenity is the best gorram movie ever! Yeah, Fox frelled up the series. They didn't promote it, and they played episodes out of order. There was a chance for good things if the movie would have made more money at the box office, but alas, it did not. Use 'Browncoats' (Firefly fan) tried our best to promote the movie, and get others to go see it, but it didn't seem to help! I even gave away 3 copies of the movie to help out DVD sales, and get others interested in Firefly.

After mentioning I had never seen the show, a co-worker recently lent me his DVDs and I watched the entire run over a weekend. What a great show, I was so disappointed when I got to the last one and there were no more episodes. And the movie was just okay, I wish they explained a bit more about the mysterious past of the preacher. And yes, Kaylie is a real cutie.....

Reba is cheaper to make, cost just a bit more then reality tv shows. Drama / sci fi with lots of locations costs big $$$ to make, it has to be a garenteed hit in prime time for them to pay for it, that is why we have so much garbage and so little quality on TV. I have worked on so many great pilots, i can't even count them all, and they don't see the light of day because there is no time slot for them, cause shit like 2 1/2 men or reba has to air.
