Obamacare passed

 Okay so I just found out that this passed both the Senate and House along with the reconciliation package.  (source)  If this plan is so good...why do the people who passed it have a different health care plan?  Also, maybe I'm wrong about this, but aren't the House and Senate supposed to be congruent with the citizens of the country?  I'm no Google-fu expert but from this polling site, the majority of people were against the health care reform and it still managed to get passed.  I highly doubt that health care was the only thing being passed with this bill.  Guess we'll have to wait and see.  Things that make you go hmmm....

So the gov't now controls health care, the auto industry and banking.  I am afraid to ask "what's next?"  Is gov't supposed to keep growing and take control of everything like this?

You know once upon a time I used to consider myself a Democrat, but something has gone very wrong with them, they act more like a cult than a political party. but as far as this bill goes, they know it is there only chance to get it done, wheather we want it of not. but now that 26 year olds living in their moms basements can keep their coverage, all is gonna be right with the world...

I have always been a Republican. But I also can see see through the bullshit stories that Republicans are spewing. This bill doesn't take over health care. It mainly puts new restrictions on insurance companies. Most likely the Senate will send this bill back to the House with some changes. I can only hope that they are good changes with Republican input. I think the Republican party is shooting themselves in the foot by not getting involved with this. Some changes are needed, so why let the Democrats control it all?

Yeah, the Republicans behavior on this has been pathetic. They need to stop the abortion crap and just stick to controlling spending and encouraging growth. How anyone can believe that taking from one person and giving it to someone else has a positive effect on society...it's a mystery to me.

All good points. I agree with the grasshopper and ant story. Just like the bumper sticker, "work harder, millions on welfare are depending on you". Both parties just need to cut the crap and work together to find a real solution to our problem.
