Trying my hand at making a simple sig

So while browsing the forums and seeing so many awesome sigs, I figured I'd see if I could make a simple one despite a lack of artistic ability or image editing knowledge.  I don't have Photoshop and figured MS Paint wouldn't be up to the task (Although I do have an installation disc and code for PS 7) so I tried a program called PhotoFiltre, which is free and pretty simple.  This is the first version that came out and I posted it in my clan forum for some feedback and suggestions...

And after the first round, this is where the sig is at so far.  Still newbish and simple, but hopefully in time it'll get better.  Any suggestions or feedback?

Making the sig was much more enjoyable and fun than I expected it would be.  Guess I'll have to try and learn more about how to do this image editing thing being that it's kinda fun and there must be a lot of different applications for this skill set.
