The ReBIRTH of New Orleans

ReBIRTH

Well, I've finally moved back home to the Cresent City (New Orleans). After living in Champaign, IL for more than a year it was time to return to my hometown. After Hurricane Katrina ripped my neighborhood apart, after HK flooded my house too the ceiling with about ninteen feet of flood water. Luckily my family members are all safe and back home as well. The reconstruction of most of the city remains undone, due to most of the evacuees still haven't returned to there homes.

For most of the people trying to return home it will be harded then leaving the place they once called home, because the costed of living has almost double. This alone will keep some of the lower income families from returning.

Hey, good to hear.. The other day I asked on the boards if anyone from NO area knew if the DDAY museum was still around or did Katrina destroy it. Do you know?

I can't give you a definite answer, however, most of downtown New Orleans was untouch by the hurricane. Its the highest part of the city. And thats were the D-Day museum is located.
