For those who aren't aware, back in 2013 Supercell released Boom Beach. This followed the insane sales of Clash of Clans, which is still going strong. So strong that there are tons of gamers that are still in there playing and who must now find time to play their latest game. And play Boom Beach we shall...here's why!
Well, if you're not too familiar with it, Boom Beach has a lot of similarities to Clash of Clans, actually. Not surprising since they're made by the same people. There is a similar interface and some of the gameplay is similar. Its also free to play, as is the thing these days apparently. They make money by selling stuff like Diamonds, the currency in the game.
The Gameplay
When you start up this game you'll begin on a gorgeous looking island in a great little village. You'll have beaches and trees all around...at least until the evil BlackGuard show up. Its a small group of invaders, though, so you manage to fend them off (at least, I hope you do). They assure you they'll be back, though.
So, you go and you grow your village. You go out exploring and trying to find plenty of wood and gold, which are needed in the game to expand. You'll find other islands that the BlackGuard have managed to conquer, and hopefully you'll help save them in return from some resources.
In the game when you're launching any offensive you'll make use of some cool looking gun boats to fire on any enemies from a distance. You also have some landing crafts that will, as the name suggests, land. :) They transport your troops to the islands to fight for you. Your defense is made up of various buildings and other structures that can fire on anything coming your way. Mortars, sniper towers, boom cannons, and more will be used to defend with.
A lot of people have said that this is just a cheaper remake of Clash of Clans, and there are certainly some similarities. However, its a really fun game if you take the time to learn how to play (more on that here: http://www.poweronpub.com/boom-beach-cheats-tips-and-strategy/), and it can become more and more challenging as time goes on. If you enjoy these sorts of games I'd highly recommend trying it out. More so if you've enjoyed playing through Clash of Clans in the past.
