New Control

Well let's see if the Dems are going to do what they say they will.  Bi-partisan work to help the situation in Iraq, control spending (haha), etc. etc.  As you may well tell from my tag the election didn't go my way.  However, if they can do some good things and walk the walk the OK good on them.  I really am surprised about how many seats they took but OK.  America spoke so now I'll just sit back and watch things unravel(potentially).  Save my money for the taxes increases.
I urge everyone to really pay attention to what is being done in the house and senate.  What they are voting on, what is being said, what they are changing etc. and see if that is really what you wanted or not.  Vote based on your values not because you hate 1 man.  In my opinion the war is what people voted on.

Unfortunately if a democrat was voted cause they will "bring the troops home" you as a voter didn't do your home work.  Even the big shot dems like Pelosi and Clinton know that it is not going to happen like so many campaign slogans said it would.  So the anti -war voters will not be impressed I'm sorry to say.  Pay attention to your taxes as even the dems said that are going to go up.

I'll leave it at that and let you guys flame away.

God bless and help America:-)

No flaming here. There is no way we can just pull troops out of Iraq and leave that government to clear out its own mess. It would result in a tragedy for their country. I don't think anybody would want that.

Sad day in America from my perspective. Pelosi, Speaker of the House, is a disaster for our country. This is the last anyone will hear from me on this. Let the Dems prove us wrong (I hope). From a former Dem.

Youre takin it pretty well. Is there a suicide watch at your house? ;) I hope they succeed as well. I hope they bring back some oversight to the executive branch like we used to have. I think we all want the war and the needless suffering to end. Mike

I hope for the best, but fear the worst. I fear higher taxes, more gun control (which means less balance of the people versus the government), and more intrusion on civil liberties than even the Republicans have done (and they've gone way too far!). I wish there was a viable 3rd party! Like Libertarians with better candidates and slightly less radical ideas.

I don't know, if we have higher taxes, we ought to...I'd like to see how popular the war would be if the government raised taxes to pay for it beforehand rather than borrowing hundreds of billions that our decendants will have to repay. Republicans want us to spend money to fight terrorism, which Americans agree with so long as it doesn't impact their budget. How many would've voted for the war if it was accompanied by a bill to raise taxes to cover the $6-7 billion a month that the war is costing?

I hear you doorgunner. I would like to see a true conservative candidate that has honest and ethical ideas that stays true to the majority of conservative America.

I'm all for a cmnd+opt+esc (or ctrl+alt+del for you PC peeps) of government and starting clean fresh with people who aren't five times as old as dirt. We need new perspectives and more open minded individuals, as well as those who don't have motivation by companies that have hands in their pockets giving them a good rub for certain privileges. Look at how they're reacting to video games and pretty much anything else nowadays. They don't care, they don't know, they just vote against the "evil" of the world so that they can get people on their side to vote for them when re-election time comes up. Where's the "for the people" in government anymore? I can't remember the last time there was anything voted for that would actually benefit me as a citizen of the United States. And you have to wonder why taxes are going to be raised, especially since we pay out the ears in taxes here, there and everywhere. We're almost to the point where we're being taxed on our taxes and there are how many people in the US? Makes you wonder how there's such a severe deficit. And as a side note, where does one get an official United States Card that allows you to spend and spend and spend and spend without any real need to ever pay it all back? I'm about due for a new home theater...
