Shared on Tue, 12/12/2006 - 07:02Zelda has finally taken off on the Wii. I'm still "pregame," meaning I've yet to go to Hyrule. I fell asleep. I have the Wii on my best TV, so it only gets played after 10pm. The way the enemies explode when they die reminds me a lot of Windwaker, but the rest of the game is definitely a better Ocarina style. I love the fire effects, and they've really increased the methods of finding rupees. No wonder the prices are so high in the shops, money literally grows in the weeds. Either that, or the population is very careless with their money. The spiders give me the creeps, just like in Ocarina.
I have to take it back, Wario's Woods does feature Wario. In the main mode, he and Birdo take turns (*ahem*). Birdo has a fairy (*ahem*) to "help you" and Wario has a black bat (or something) and lowers the ceiling. Aside from Wario being faster, that bat is just the fairy in disguise. I mean, if the fairy really wanted to help Toad, she'd stop dropping those bombs. For a puzzle game, it's not very hard! I recommend Solomon's Key on the Virtual Console if you want a hard puzzle-game.
I'm re-tracing my steps on the Xbox 360's game Enchanted Arms. I fell asleep. Yes, twice in one night. I'm discovering that you must explore every conspicuous path that goes around the corner. I even got one of the coveted items I'm looking for to get to the end. This game is not outstanding in gameplay, but it is eye candy. Indulge your optic sweet tooth.
