However, you can keep it on the cheap by picking games in the 9.99 and under bin. If you manage to find three 2.99 games, you just spent 6 dollars for three games. The really cheap ones are in the Xbox and Playstation 2 departments. There are two reasons a game gets really cheap: low demand or overstock. Low demand is lack of interest in a bad or generic game, game age, new versions of same game, or games that cater to a special audience. Overstock can occur on really good games. It's just that everyone had to have it, got it, played it, and traded it in.
In the midst of all this, I accidently discovered a trivia game for the TV comedy "Friends" was published for PS2. Who knew?
Now, I hope the Circuit City $8.88 sale comes back.
EDIT (6/12/07): This is the perfect way to get those Burger King Xbox 360 games. They are now $2.99 each, and you can get all three with the 3-fer-2 deal for just six dollars.
