My First HD-baby

I quickly resolved my HD problems by following all of my steps from an earlier post.  Those steps worked well!  I went to BJs warehouse, which I understand isn't everywhere in the USA, and compared.  BJs makes the mistake of using a standard, NTSC feed.  One lesser-name TV manufacturer, Olevia, has always caught my eye.  The standard feed looked pretty good, but I had to check further on an HD feed.

CompUSA has HD feed AND Olevia.  Best Buy did not.  The problem was, CompUSA charged about $100 more.  I still love CompUSA, they have the best prices on closeout games!

One day later, and I buy the Olevia 37".  Eight hundred bucks.  That is the cheapest LCD flat-panel HDTV I could find.  So I plug in the xbox360 and wow!  It looks just like the Salavation Station at Best Buy.

Unfortunately, it became the next livingroom fixture as the best TV in the house.  So, I'll still be playing a lot of my gaming on the old-best TV.  But every once-in-awhile i'll switch them out.  The biggest thing you notice is that, in most games, the left and right edges of the gamescreen are simply cropped off.  And I shamefully enjoy Bejeweled 2 in HD.

Sweet man! I bought my 32" LCD HDTV (Samsung) early in 2006 simply because I got the 360 for Christmas! I had the same reaction. Gotta love tax returns and bonuses from work! Of course, I think I would have rather spent $800 like you than what I spent. That's a great deal! Now, you can get some 42" Plasmas HDTV's for what I spent last year on the LCD. I wouldn't go with a Plasma though. Oh well...that's the way the ball rolls I guess.
