Thanks for the warning, Amazon. I new something was wrong when they didn't ship it yesterday. So I took my silly butt to Best Buy, where they had NO copies. I even found out someone who preordered FM2 at Best Buy was told on the phone that his was in stock. Then he gets there and ZILCH!
There is a happy ending, though. I jumped over to Circuit City and it was in stock for anyone to buy. Plus, I got a free Arcade Unplugged game. I didn't want Arcade Unplugged, but now I'll have Wik and the Fable of Souls, Hardwood Backgammon, and Outpost Kaloki. I didn't want to buy them, but they're not too bad. Space Lemonade, yum!
The Circuit City trip got me that free game deal, and then I went looking for Memory Stik Pro Duo for the PSP. I found SanDisk 4G for $95 and Sony 4G for $99.99. I thought the $5 difference was worth the Sony card. Turns out, there is a special at Circuit City that ends on June 18th. You get $15 dollars off any purchase of $100 or more. So I ended up paying $85, a full $10 cheaper. I should warn you that the usual video game hardware restriction is in place, so you can't buy an Elite and get the discount.
I cancelled my Amazon order, consequently. Still, when a store grossly underbuys for it's reserves, they either have a bad algorithm for estimating cancellations, or they are having money problems. I'm pretty sure it's just bad management of the video games department.
