Wal Mart Violates Own Preorder Policy (or Maybe They Lied?)

This is a follow-up to my "Shennanigans" post from Friday. Apparently it was Wal-Mart that said "No" to pre-orders on unrated/ratings-pending games. Joystiq had this article almost a year ago about the undeserved flap over the upcoming game, Bully by Take Two:

John Simley from Walmart media relations contacted Joystiq to clear up the ciircumstances behind the Bully pre-order situation. Simley said that Wal-mart policy is to not carry any unrated or Rating Pending games for pre-order or sale, in-store or online.

And yet there are pre-orders available on many games that are currently "RP," like Rock Band Encores Rock the 80's, DDR Hottest Party, and even Overlord (already released, but they are selling it as "RP"), and the infamous Grand Theft Auto IV. I think that business-wise, Wal-Mart has every right to pre-sell any game, and that it is good for the coorporation. I just wanted to point out all of the hot-air that comes from PR when the pressure is on.
