GOD does provide.

I am constantly amazed at the things that GOD does for me. He does provide when it is needed. I have been letting go of my problems and fears and giving them to Christ and he does take care of me.

Every time I think, this is it, we are going under, something happens that just amazes me and my wife. We are still struggling to make ends meet. Every month is a challenge to us and we just seem to get a little more behind. Then comes the point of just waiting for "them" to come get the car, come get whatever. Right now is no different, and again, GOD finds a way. Last month, the twins were in the hospital for 4 days. We have AFLAC insurance. AFLAC sent us our checks, and we now have been able to get caught up again. It simply amazes me. Before we went into the hospital, the wife and I were struggling with each other. When we were there, we pulled together. Without saying a word, we carried each other and our family. Since then, things have been so much better between us.

I say all this because , while the kiddos being their was scary and just plain miserable, we learned from it. We prayed . We came through it...STRONGER and BETTER and that is because GOD. He put a trial in our life, I asked GOD to show me the way, and HE DID!!!

Remember, without the trials, we would not have His victories.

I essentially agree, but still I have a hard time with thanking God (Allah in my case) for discord and adverse happenings. I rarely thank him for good things happening to me aswell. We muslims believe that Allah is benovelent, but ultimately our own actions make us what we are, as we more or less strive to live according to the Qui'ran, the muslim book of conduct. If we live by the rules, help the poor, the needy and the unable, being respectul to women and children and most of all work to become a better person (in all considerations), then Allah will look at us with pride and joy. Almost everything in life is Insj'Allah, God's will, but that doesn't mean you can petition Allah with prair and hope for the best. You yourself ultimately must save the day, and for all things considered, that's how it should be. I do hope that the twins will be alright, and I wish you and your family faith and strength.

Christians believe people don't get to heaven through actions. We get there because of grace and the sacrifice the living God made on the cross. There are many, many people around that are good people and do good things, but if they don't have a personal relationship with Christ, we belive all is for naught. He may have used someone in some way to do it, but to God goes the glory. Great post, Rock!

Thanks CAT. I agree, our actions do make us who we are. If we live how you say, we live well, we put God in first in our life, then yes, we will be blessed. It is hard to thank GOD for the trials, but I must. I know that the trials in my life have made me a better Man, Husband, Father and friend. How can I not look at these things as gifts. The most amazing thing to me is that God is great enough to have made the world, the universe, but still know who I am and helps me through each day!!! The twins are doing well. Fox has to have surgery for his ears on the 13th. He is struggling to hear at all right now. Once the tubes are in, he will be much happier!!! Again, thank you for the response. And Thank you for your thoughts. Rock

TexasTwister55 .. I think that is seriously wrong. Anyone that has a belief system that says your actions mean nothing but your "relationship with God" means everything is silly. If I don't believe in God .. or YOUR God .. but I'm a good person - does a decent God turn me away in the afterlife? Bah. It's one thing to be spiritual and have a spiritual side. It's another thing to take books, influenced by humans with agendas, too seriously. It's a fine line between spiritual belief and cheering for your "home team" religion and not giving respect to the "away team". My belief is the true meaning of life, spritualism, etc is not contained in a book. And people who manipulate others with their agendas are the ones that should worry about what God thinks of them. Either way, I believe our lives are what we make of them, and what chance makes of us. I'm happy that Nash's life is working out and ends are meeting. But what about the God-believer Christian/Muslim/Jew that also believes and has no luck? Or dies in a landslide? Or drowns? Did God not like them? Or was that just the way the deck was stacked?

Philosophyzer...I would disagree with you. We, as Christians, believe that God is a loving God, but He is also just. One must be held accountable for their actions by standing before the judgment seat of God. To show you a couple of verses, about the single way to heaven is through Christ: Matthew 7:13-14 Jesus spoke these words: 13 "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. And Luke 18:18-30 Jesus tells the disciples the parable of the rich ruler: " 18A certain ruler asked him, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" 19"Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good—except God alone. 20You know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.'[b]" 21"All these I have kept since I was a boy," he said. 22When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." 23When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was a man of great wealth. 24Jesus looked at him and said, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God! 25Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." 26Those who heard this asked, "Who then can be saved?" 27Jesus replied, "What is impossible with men is possible with God." 28Peter said to him, "We have left all we had to follow you!" 29"I tell you the truth," Jesus said to them, "no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God 30 will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life." Then, one of Jesus' most profound statements" John 14:6 "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." I do not believe in coincidence, but that is me. I strongly believe in divine intervention. My job as a Christian is not to answer the question "Why?" My finite mind can not comprehend what goes through God's mind, nor should it. My job is to help others believe, by spreading the word of God. I can say this with 100% confidence, every answer you seek, can be found in the Bible. I'm not big on debates, so I hope I don't come off as being mean, that's not what I'm trying to do. Take care Nash, SD and Phil. END OF LINE JR

If you truly have a relationship with Christ, you're actions and deeds will be evident. As far as me being silly, I won't even bother to respond one way or another. I am a pretty silly guy. Being "religious" and having a meaningful relationship with Christ are two different animals. The book of which you speak was written by people, granted. But the words are the words of God. At least that is what I believe. I will not judge your character or your beliefs, but I (we) have the right to express ours on a personal blog. Check in from time to time. You're always welcome.

And since you asked, according to our beliefs, the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ. As for why bad things happen to good people. . .I can't answer that one.One day, I'll be able to ask Him. I do know that there are no random events. God either causes something to happen or allows it. I don't believe we are manipulating others. We are expressing our beliefs on a personal blog. If a non-believer wishes to discuss my faith with me, that's cool. I will. You'll never catch me jamming it down anyones throat. Nor will you find me being beligerant when someone else expresses theirs on their own blog. If I don't like what I read, I just click a button. (-:
