Sleepnumber beds.

So Im heading out on a trip today till Saturday.

Usually we stay in all sorts of hotels, but this week by chance has me staying in all Radisons.  They have some sort of partnership with sleepnumber so all hotels at least in North America use those beds.

Well, Im not a fan.

For those who havenet seen the bionic womans commercial, they are essentially an adjustable air mattress.

Ive tried messing around with the number and cant find one thats really comfortable for me.  Also, no matter what the controller says, with both sides set to the same number they are different firmnesses so if you roll onto the middle of the bed, one side is firmer than the other and  you end up feeling like your sleeping on a slope.

Also the bed has a liner around the outside kinda like a waterbed so sitting on the edge of the bed feels just wrong.

On a side note, whats up with hotels putting 10 pillows on your bed.  That would be great except they are all the same brand of pillow..so if the one you have is uncomfortable, all 9 others are identical.  You'd think they would put a selection of thickness/firmness out so you could find one thats right for you.

+1 for important consumer information. I have always wondered about those sleep number beds.

I can certainly agree that for a sleep number noob, it'd be unlikely that you'd get a match on the first night (or two). But they're really excellent beds for home. My wife & I have had ours for going on 7 years and would never go back. Not gonna get into evangelizing, just saying don't decide based on a night or two! :) Rick
