Shared on Sat, 04/29/2006 - 09:04OK, let me first apologize to any unfortunate souls that earn their living working for EB Games. This is not directed towards individual persons. Just the company as a whole. Let me explain. I have had nothing but bad luck with EB. First the entire debacle with the 360s. Then I pre-ordered Oblivion. My good friends in Detroit were able to order, and pick-up the game a full day before the "release". Now me here in Flori-duh, not able too. Not only was I not able to get it the day early, I wasnt ale to get it on the release day.I FUCKING PRE-ORDERED IT!! Now to the Coup de Tat. I pre- ordered a collectors edition of the new Guild Wars Factions. For anyone who is not familiar with Guild Wars, it is an MMORPG. The developers allowed anyone who pre-ordered the game to access the content 24 hours early. In this 24 hour period, you were able to participate in special events, and have access to items that were only avail to pre-order players. I have since found out, that when you pre-ordered the game, you were supposed to receive a disk that would allow you to access the content. EB Games was listed on the Guild Wars website as an official retailer. Lo and Behold, noone at 4 EB Games locations knew what the hell I was talking about. I showed up on the 27th to get the game for the early access, (not knowing you needed this disk, I thought you could pick-up the game early) and was told I could pick my PRE-ORDER up tomorrow. Noone knew anything about the preview event, or even the necessary disk. After repeated calls to EB Games stores, and even a few strategically placed calls to their corporate number, I was able to get an access key to participate in the event. I was able to get the key at 930pm, and the event went until 1200 am. A WHOPPING 2 1/2 HOURS. WOO WEE!!!!! And the story get meatier from here. I wait till the next day to go in and pick up my PRE-ORDERED game (The all caps on PRE-ORDER will now be explained). The gentleman behind the counter informs me that my PRE-ORDERED Limited edition version of the game is not in. This was after he tried to pass off the regular edition as a limited. I being the savvy consumer noted this mistake. Here is where the venom comes from. What is the point of taking a customers money in advance for a product, when your inventory system does not select and ship the appropriate pre-ordered items to the specified location? How is this my (the customer) problem? If I order something, pay for it, I should get it when its promised. This is simply not good business. My customers would string me up if I pulled that shiot. I dont think Im being totally unreasonable. Everyone makes a mistake. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IN A ROW THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. My only recourse is to not gived EB my business. There are plenty of other retailers in my area that I can procure my items from. I started to use EB simply because of the variety of inventory they offered. Instead of 3 stores, I get what I needed at one. Not anymore. I will not continue to be inconvienced simple because EB does not take the time to filter information down to its retail locations. Other retailers dont have this issue. And why the difference from state to state as to when someone gets their product. I can actually send my buddy in Detroit money, and he can purchase and ship me a game before I could go into my local store in Flori-DUh and buy it. Something is really fucking wrong there. So in closing......
FUCK EB GAMES!!!!!
