It's not about scores or performance for me, more so how the person reacts to different situations and sharing their genuine reactions to the game. So for me, live commentary is a must.
I was toying with the idea of getting a HD-PVR to record my gameplay but, after much consideration, I changed my mind and decided to go about things a different way and use my digital camera. I've seen many successful YouTube commentators use this technique (in fact all of my favourite ones use a digital camera) and I was impressed with the results they got. Agreed, the picture quality isn't up to that of a HD-PVR, but it's not a million miles away and the advantages of using a camera are many. I will probably get a HD-PVR eventually so I can have the best of both worlds.
Anyway, here is an example of the quality I can record with my camera. Although it can record in 1080p, I've only recorded in 720p to save time uploading and honestly you can't notice that much difference after YouTube has messed with the video.
Let me know what you think of the picture quality.
