The following test video has been encoded at 6mbps using the ArcSoft capturing software and then rendered using Sony Vegas at 720p into a Sony AVC/MVC mp4 file. The clip is over 8 minutes long and weighs in a 430MB, which is the smallest file size I have managed to get so far whilst still getting good video quality. In comparison, the same raw file rendred as a .wmv weighed in at a whopping 1.8GB!
What settings do you fellas use with your PVR? Do you try and strike abalance between quality and file size or do you go all out for high quality? Also, if any of you have managed to find a better setup to keep the file size small, please let me know!
