Mine's been unplugged for months. We'll see if when destiny comes out if i plug it back in again or not. I guess it's value depends on the person, if you're not into the streaming/recording/sharing then it's value is a only as a voice command input device which frankly i think could be done via a headset mic for $20.

I like not having to wear a headset, even on multiplayer games. I can Skype video calls on my TV and games, even non-Kinect games like Forza and Dead Rising, are starting to integrate Kinect features into the games. Like you said, I don't necessarily need the Kinect to play Titanfall or whatever, but if my Kinect stopped working it would turn my XB1 experience into something negative, and replacing the Kinect would become a priority very quickly.
