Reality TV

Normally I'm not much of a reality TV person.  The wife got me in to American Idol this past year, mainly because a couple of the contestants were from my home state, and one was only about 40 miles from us.  I was rooting for David Cook the whole way, so I was glad that he pulled out the win.  I didn't think we needed another female country singer, as they all tend to sound the same to me.  Glad to see an original rocker type win it.

After the first couple that I watched I got hooked on Hell's Kitchen.  Sometimes it's a little bit to over the top on the drama, but I've enjoyed watching it so far.  It's down to 2 contestants now and the winner gets to be the executive chef at the founders new restaraunt.  One more episode left, since they decided to drag the finale out for 2 weeks.  Here's hoping that Petrozza pulls out a win.

I'm also pulling for Petrozza. He's been one of the most consistent cooks there. After his first dish that he made on the first show, I'd never thought he'd be in the final two. I usually despise "reality" TV, but I used to be a cook, so I naturally gravitated to this show. Yeah, sometimes it's over dramatic, but some kitchens aren't far from what you see. Working in some kitchens are as close as some will come to joining the military! I remember reading about one French chef who threatened one of his cooks with a knife!

I watch a lot of reality TV in the summer. During regular TV seasons i watch big brother and survivor mostly. I don't think either contestant on Hells Kitchen this season are stars. Last seasons I felt the finalists really should have been there but this year everyone is shit. we just have the best two shittiest chefs left. I don't care who wins, they all suck.

That's exactly how I felt, Tank. None of them really have as much weight as last season's final two. In fact, the girl from the last season really surprised me because it looked like she just stepped up her game out of nowhere and became a real threat. Petrozza has that nice guy thing going on, but I don't know if that'll swing being an executive chef. You can't be afraid to crack the whip and bust balls when things get hectic. Christina has talent and might be able to light the candle under people's asses more naturally than Petrozza. I just wish Jen got the boot earlier. I know her type exactly, and it's a pain to work with someone who just infects everyone like that.
