Shared on Wed, 10/18/2006 - 13:51I'll be sending out AIM's tonight after the kiddo goes to bed (say 7:30ish) to those who are ready to try out the build.
What's new in this build -
Reverse thrusters (hit 's' and you'll apply a reverse thrust to your current forward vector)
All the ship types have had their acceleration / max velocities modified.
Stealth ship is now capable of entering / exiting from stealth mode.
Engine particle effects
Main Menu music
In-Game music
Sound FX! (weapon fire, low-health, low-weapon energy, death) A couple of guest appearances from Dr. Tran sounds until I can purchase some professional sounds.
Game "duration". After "n" minuets (default is 15) a new level will start. (need to implement a "X kills wins the round" method of finishing a level)
Larger demo level (4x as big as the old one).
Keep your fingers crossed for no crashes on tonight's test and I look forward to seeing you all in there!
Finally...a screenie worthy of posting! This one doesn't show much other than the new models in action, along with the particle effects from the thrusters. The ship that is "moving" is actually the stealth ship, which can now enter/exit from stealth (will be available in tonight's build). The more I look at this screenie the more I realize I really need to write an in-game GUI :)
