Shared on Tue, 02/05/2013 - 12:26My Columbian Red Tailed Boa named Mustaffar had a swelling show up over the course of 3 weeks on her nose, it kept getting bigger with time, so I took her in this morning to the vet. Turned out she had an infected abscess, still unclear on how or why, but the vet lanced it and drained it....gross as hell....lost my appetite lol. But all went well, and she was so well behaved, the whole staff had to come see her, and take pics, they even put her up on their website!!! I'm glad that she's ok...here are the pics the staff took.

Hell, I would freak out. Glad he's okay but I don't want to run into him.

while we were there I had the doc check the sex....never have, and turns out Mustaffar is a female. I has my suspisions...she's definently more moody and aggressive than my male Ball Python Bossk.

I don't really get having snakes as pets. I mean they're cool, but what can you do with them? there's not really a lot of interaction there, unless you count runnign around with it around your neck and freaking people out.

running around with them around your neck and freaking people out iS a plus....different strokes for different folks I guess....I have 2 snakes, and 2 dogs. While there isn't much interaction with snakes, besides feeding them once a week or so, freaking people out, or just lettting them chill on your lap or shoulders. To me having snakes as pets makes more sense than having a pet bird, thier noisy, messy and obnoxious. I dont get fish people either, yeah I get the whole making the tank look all pretty and cool, and some kinds of fish are cool looking and exotic, but there again not much interaction, and VERY high maintenance.

She's beautiful. Glad she's ok. Lancing a boa's cyst sounds expensive . . . . . .
