Washout

As I sit here looking out my bay window, the rain is coming down and it's cool for August with highs possibly only getting into the upper 60s.  With vacation coming next week, I was hoping to get out and cut the grass since I won't be home for the next few weekends.  Now thanks to the weekend washout, I'll have to bust my ass home from work and do it some time this week.

Cool days like this will be here before you know it as summer has almost past.  Driving in to work, I keep dreading when traffic becomes 100 times worse as school time approaches.  It always amazes me that summer seems to go by quicker and quicker each year.  I start Spring off with a lot of hopes to get done on my property and then get to Fall and wonder what the hell happened to the time.

Speaking of Fall, it used to be my favorite season of the year.  Football starts up and the air is nice and crisp.  But then, seven years ago I got into the wonderful world of home ownership.  Have a decent property for Connecticut with woods next to me and a ton of trees (see where I am going?).  Now that favorite time of the year has turned in to 12 hours each weekend blowing the leaves into the woods.  It's a very unforgiving job since as soon as you clean up the property, the next round covers the yard back up within a few days.  Unfortunately, there are just too many to even wait until they all hit the ground.

Basically those thoughts are a good reminder to enjoy what's left of the summer.  Before you know it, you'll be wishing Spring of 2007 would get here.

As for me, I'm going to have to get some tissues to wipe up the tears thinking of all of those damned leaves that  will be kicking my ass in a few months.

I hear ya man... I was thinking the same thing last night when I had to close the windows at night. I rent, but get some rent shaved off if I rake the yard. Just think, at least you don't have to bag all the leaves... Now that sucks!
