Top 20 Favorite Movies

#20. The Lord of the Rings
Yes, it was a masterpiece. Yes, it was done as well as it could be done. No, I don’t have a good reason for it being so far down on the list.

#19. For Love of the Game
I’m not a fan of baseball or Kevin Costner, so it’s a wonder that I really like this movie.

#18. Transformers
Would have rated this one higher if there would have been more scenes with Starscream.

#17. Ferris Buellers Day Off
Even now, when I play hooky from work, this is the kind of day I want to have.

#16. National Lampoons Vacation
This is my favorite comedy off all time. Probably because I’ve been on family vacations that are just as ludicrous.

#15. Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy
After the first two, this series was in my top ten. I thought the third brought the series down a bit.

#14. Dirty Dancing
This one is kind of a guilty pleasure. However, I can say with pride, “Nobody puts Baby in a corner.”

#13. The Breakfast Club
Not really a comedy, but more of a “dramady.” Best teen movie of the 80’s.

#12. Hoosiers
I’m from Indiana, so it was kind of a given that this one would be on the list somewhere.

#11. Goodfellas
“As far back as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to be a gangster.”

#10. Gone with the Wind
It’s easy to see why this movie has sold more tickets then any other movie in history.

#9. Tombstone
I’m not a big Val Kilmer fan, but I can’t imagine anyone else playing this part.

#8. The Last Starfighter
“You have been recruited by the Star League to defend the frontier against Zur and the Kodan armada.”

#7. The Wrath of Khan
This is William Shatner at his overdramatic best. Ricardo Montalban reprising his role as Khan was just awesome.

#6. Serenity
The sequel to Joss Whedon’s short-lived series, “Firefly.” Even if you’ve never seen the T.V. show, you definitely need to check this movie out.

#5. Die Hard
If everyone could employ a John McClane, there would be no terrorism.

#4. Alien/Aliens
One of those rare instances where even though the original is awesome, the sequel is even better.

#3. Jaws
This movie caused an entire nation to be wary of the water. The scene where Quint tells his story about the sinking of the U.S.S. Indianapolis is my favorite bit of dialogue in any movie…ever.

#2. Indiana Jones trilogy
Indiana Jones is the consummate action hero. I’m counting down the days until the fourth movie.

#1. Star Wars trilogy
No, not the CGI mess of recent years, but the original trilogy. I’ve lost count as to how many times I’ve seen these movies, but I still enjoy them almost as much as the first time I saw them.
