'Tis the Season

Apparently it is the season for wives to get jobs.  My story goes like this.

Phone rings about 10:30 yesterday with wife excitedly asking me if I can come home and watch the kids for the afternoon.  Apparently one of our kid's god parents has a sister who is an assistant principal at a elementary school north of us and they need a Music Teacher / Band Director.  I go home about 12:30 and she hits the road with two stops.  First is the Lincoln County Department of Education to fill out an application and the second is the school around 3:00 to interview.  She calls the house at 3:45 and screams she has the job!  I've never seen a state or federal agency work this quickly.

That evening we hear through the grapevine that folks are starting to brag.  Apparently most of Tennesse got budget to hire full time music people and they're in short supply so her resume was being read to envious elementary school administrators throughout the podunk county she'll be working in.  Yay!  Medical Insurance and extra Income rock!

I tried to play Shadowrun last night but didn't see a lot of folks one (other than the Pro's who always kick my ass anyway).  I have yet to try NCAA '08 online so send me an invite if you see me on.

Yes, our governor in Tennessee has been working his tail off for education. He has been managing to find / raise / earmark money like never before. Each of our 10 Pre-K teachers have something like $1000 to spend on ANYTHING educational for their own classroom. This is only a small portion of our grant. This is after we all got completely brand-new furniture last year. Completely unbelievable. After scrimping, begging, borrowing, and making everything for so long we are all in disbelief. Congrats to your wife on her job! Tell her best of luck!
