W@W Double XP Boosting - WTF?

I'm guessing there might be others, but the version of boosting I ran into was played in a domination match.  I entered a prematch lobby with 11 dudes all with the clan name "bost".  Upon arrival, I was notified that the lobby was boosting, and that if I didn't like it, I should leave.  I was working on a witty response when player #13 arrived and needed the same speech.  He didn't have his mic plugged in to deliver his response.  Didn't matter, the match began to load on Dome.  As it did, someone reminded everyone of the ground rules.  First, everyone was to go to B flag, and only B flag.  No one was permitted to capture A or C.  And the second, and most important rule was that there was to be absolutely no shooting.

The match started, and I ran with my team towards B flag.  The other team was also running for B flag from the opposite direction.  I expected a collision, and since there was to be no shooting, I also expected a frenzied knife fight.  Instead, the other team got to the flag first, and my team stopped.  Wtf?  My opponents captured the flag, then all of them, almost in unison, backed away from the flag.  My team surged forward, also darn near in unison, and began capturing the flag.  So I joined them.  +30 popped up, and my team backed up.  Wtf?  So I backed up.  Other team moved forward, captured the flag, and moved back.  We moved forward, +30, and moved back.  Repeat, repeat, repeat.  It was a wierd, well armed, f'd up square dance.  Apparently I was boosting.  And it contuned for a long time.  The only thing that initially broke the monotany was the one opponent who didn't back away from the flag in a timely fashion, preventing us from taking the flag.  I did the prudent thing.  I stabbed him.

Player #13, without his mic on, either also may have had his volume off, hadn't understood the program, or didn't like the program.  He immediately captured A.  The good news is that he was on my team.  The bad news was that my team was pissed.  There were very unfriendly things said to Spartan 8936 that he may or may not have heard.  At this point, at a minimum, #13 had to have realized that he wasn't being shot at.  He would have also noticed the large number of players doing a polite dosy-doe around B flag since the map is not very big.  It took him a long while before he took C flag.  I had to turn the volume down on my earpiece.  My team was not happy and they were telling Spartan 8936 so.

And soon after, it got worse.  The other team was moving forward for their turn around B when a small object bounced into view from the general direction of C flag.  The object blew up, two dudes fell down.  One of their team turned and unloaded a clip at #13.  One of our team shot he who shot at #13.  Their team returned fire.  Both teams opened up, and standard domination play began.  I heard cries like, "not again" and "why does this always happen".  It didn't last very long after that.  I ended up with more than 2300 xp for 3 kills.

It was really ugly in the post game lobby.  There were more not very friendly things said.  And since I hadn't really had that good of a time I backed out.  I can't imagine those guys doing that all night.  They had to endure the grief of fighting people who entered the pregame lobby.  And then they had to endure the monotany of move forward, wait, move back, wait, repeat.  I did it once out of curiosity.  I don't care to do it again.  I don't understand why anyone would want to do this all night long.  I don't care that I haven't unlocked all of the weapons or that I haven't prestiged yet.  Battling my way to prestige provides a lot of enjoyment for me.  Why would anyone want to skip it all?  Am I missing something?  Fame?  Glory?  Boobies?

I was in a lobby when a group of about 8 BOST people came into the room and started yelling out, 'Does everyone in here want to boost?' I said 'fuck no, get out'. And some girl said 'hey they don't all have mics anyway' and they left. I guess I must have bumped into them after you, they had learned their mic lesson.

I wonder how many lobbies they get kicked out of for every boosting match they get to play. MikeTheKnife can't be the only gamer out there giving them shit.
