9/12 March and Protest

Say what you will about these folks, but to call them "nut-jobs" and other slurs doesn't really apply.

Am I against healthcare reform? No. Absolutely not. However, I am against a bill that is 1,000 + pages, which the majority of Congress hasn't even read. I'm against having such a Bill shoved down my throat without it being vetted and examined.  I'm also against the cost of the Bill and the spending by our government that seems to be out of control.  The cost of this "Reform" is way too much so we can just make sure we can cover 6% of the population.

I'm also against the IRS being one of the Departments that will assist in overseeing the Healthcare distrobution.

The fact that they are attempting to shove it through Congress makes me think that there is a lot in that Bill that people would find objectible

The Tea Party Movement is alive and well, and stronger then ever. Eventually, the MSM and politicians will have to start paying attention to these people just by the sheer fact that they are getting hard to ignore.

I see the Tea Party to be the group opposite of MoveOn.org. They may not have the numbers that MoveOn has, but they are growing. On top of that, the movement is not "just Republican" nut jobs and wing nuts. The majority of the people are Conservatives, Libertarians, doctors, truck drivers, and a lot of just plain middle class folks who are fed up with our government not listening to us. This isn't the Republicans vs. the Democrats. These are The PEOPLE

Obama is trying to say that the opposition is using "scare tactics" and that the time for debate is over and that it's time for the Bill to be passed. Sorry Barrack, but "We the People" have the right to protest, argue, and challenge our Government and its practices.

But that's ok. Keep marginalizing this movement Mr. Obama. Keep ignoring stories about the movement, or continue to make jokes about. All you are doing is feeding fuel to the fire.

Oh, and Repulicans... tread lightly. This isn't your movement. Do not think you are going to co-opt it for your own power plays.

I Love this Pic

The Dems are just gonna say that those pics where photoshoped. Fox was saying that there where over 100thousand people, and cnn said it was less than 10 thousand. I dont know but that looks like more than 10 thousand people to me...

Reports from non-news and non-partisan groups estimate the crowd to be over 450,000 people, if not more.

Even more than our rights to protest etc...we have a responsibility to understand what really is in the bills the Congress and the Senate will eventually pass that will effect us so profoundly. The time for giving our Legislature a blank checkbook is over, a pat on the back and a 'don't spend that all in one place son' is over. And your right Soup, it wasn't just Obama; this crap started with Bush and the bailouts to AIG et al. I haven't joined the Tea Party movement but I certainly sympathize with their cause. And you nailed it about the push to get this thing through...what you trying to hide, Mr. President?

Ekattan... that fucking rocks... That's still a sore point for me. Honduras followed their constitution and the law, and were condemned by the world who said it was a military coup. And our administration doesn't support them.
