Anyways, I finished up the campaign on BOPs yesterday and went in and did some combat training. Even though it was against bots, I can see the issue with the spawn system and the sound. I hope that they will work on fixing both these issues.
I'm still on the fence as to whether the MM will be worth the hype, but I won't make any judgements until I get quite a few games under my belt. Not sure I'll return to MW2 if BOPs isn't up to snuff though either. I'd probably continue playing Reach with a smattering of BF:BC2 mixed in until Brink releases sometime this coming Spring.
Anyways, my brother-in-law happens to know the CEO of Psyko Audio quite well. He was able to connect us, and after some discussion, I was able to talk him into sending me a pair of their headsets for me to test drive and then write a review for 2o2p:
I have to say, I'm intrigued with these. The design is an example of "thinking outside the box". Anyways, they came in the mail the other day, and since they are "PC Only" (they are working on Xbox and PS3 versions), I had to jury-rig them.. Simply put, I connected the Psyko Amp to my existing Tritton Digital Decoder (the box the headphones connect to) and the Psyko headphones to the Psyko Amp.
It's a lot of wires, but it works. I played some Reach Firefight and some COD:BO using them. I need to do some comparison testing between them and my Trittons. It'd be nice to do some comparison between them and the Astros, but I don't have any, and I don't have the money to buy any.
So I'm looking forward to the coming week of using these while gaming, and once I'm satisfied, I'll write up my review. Expect it sometime after Thanksgiving.
