I just love getting these emails from people in Africa, England, etc...  Now they are coming from America!

Dear American:

I need to ask you to support urgent secret business relationship with transfer of funds of great magnitude.

I am Ministry of Treasury of Republic of America. My country has had crisis that has caused need for large transfer of funds of 800 billion dollars US. If you would assist me in transfer, it would be most profitable to you.

I am working with Mr. Andrew Cuomo, who will be my replacement as Ministry of the Treasury in January. As Housing and Urban Developement Secretary, you may know him as leader of movement to give subprime loans to unemployed people in 1990s. This transaction is 100% safe.

This is matter of great urgency. We need blank check. We need funds as quickly as possible. We cannot directly transfer these funds in names of our close friends because we are constantly under surveillance. My family lawyer advise me that I should look for a reliable and trustworthy person who will act as next of kin so funds can be transferred.

Please reply with all of you bank account, IRA and college fund account numbers and those of you children and grandchildren to wallstreetbailout@treasury.gov so that we may transfer your commission for this transaction. After I receive that information, I will respond with detailed information about safeguards that will be used to protect funds.

Yours Faithfully Minister of Treasury Paulson

Fucking phishers.

The one I saw said Phil Gramm instead of Cuomo. I think its intended more as a pun and lampoon than a phishing scam. I have not clicked the link, however.

I would think it was really funny if my stomach wasn't in knots thinking of the truth in it. Watching the news this week, I am just numb from unbelief.

You'd think they'd at least proofread these phishing emails to have correct spelling and grammar. But at least you're not getting emails for pills to make your boobage a few cup sizes larger!
