...at work with work! That's one of the reasons why my blogging has been sporadic these past few weeks. I plan on a huge pic dump for the next couple of blogs to satiate those that enjoy such pictures.

However, today is Tax Day, and there are numerous "Tea Parties" happening across the country. I plan on attending the one here in Dallas tonight, and will post any pics and stories of worth.

Just remember:

• If you’re a 50-year old-with a college degree, you will pay approximately $81,000 over your working life just to pay the interest on the debt in the Obama budget.
• If you’re a 40-year-old, you’ll pay $132,000.
• And if you’re a 20-year-old, just starting out after college, you will pay a whopping $114,000 just to service the interest on the debt created by the Obama budget.

Time for some Tea Bagging!

Oh, and for you Veterans out there:

LEGION BLASTS HOMELAND SECURITY ON VET WARNING -- "To continue to use McVeigh as an example of the stereotypical 'disgruntled military veteran' is as unfair as using Osama bin Laden as the sole example of Islam."

Ouch.

I do question the numbers....why would a 20 year old pay less over his/her lifetime than a 40 year old? The tax the "rich" theory is total BS. I honestly think the average american is too stupid/greedy to understand the impact it will have on them.

LOL... yeah, approved by a senate and congress of which hardly any of them actually read the plan. Sorry, slamming it down our throats really isn't "approval" IMO.

Besides: ” Complaining about taxes is as American as apple pie. But the spending has never been so crazed. Nothing wrong with a few folks reminding the people they put in office that it’s time to get things under control.”

So far the votes have largely been on party lines. This makes the Democrats very nervous because if it doesn't turn out the way the hope, they can't blame Bush anymore. And note...even if the White House estimates are true, the deficits are still historically high ten years out? WTF?

It's funny how many of these "tea parties" are being held in public parks, attended by people whose children are in public schools and who drove there on public roads monitored by the local police, EMS, and Fire Departments. Death to government spending!

The budget isn't much different than the last one, just that Obama's includes the cost of the military forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, which was omitted in the Bush budget. I agree that there's a ton of waste all-around, but this isn't a Dem-GOP issue, it's much larger than that. Corporations and the government are being far too wasteful and greedy and the taxpayers are the ones that end up suffering.

Where were all these people when Bush was spending it bombs to destroying a nation or two? That you have no problem with but spending on improving your infrastructure and all of a sudden its a big deal.

I'm not making it into a party-line issue. I hate both parties, and have stated as much in the past. I'm more Libertarian then anything, though I'll not claim membership to that party either. I'm Independent, and proud of it.

My issue is with bailing out the banks and the car companies. They're just handing out the cash to basically any big company asking for it. They are rewarding failure. That typically only maintains the status quo, and so nothing will change, and the spending will continue. Oh, and Midnighter, these people were around when Bush was spending non-stop. They were called "Porkbusters" during his administration... And they had issue with his spending as much as they have issue with Obama's. It's ridiculous all the way around. This isn't a party line issue people. Stop trying to make it one.

Fuck what it is being spent on. The fact is we are in massive debt and cannot afford to increase spending to obscene levels. Do you build a new deck when you cannot pay off your credit cards? And can the blame Bush bullshit. This is not new...Congress has been keeping parts of the budget off the books for decades. @Lostsupper...No one is saying stop government spending. These people, myself included, are asking why we need to be spending as much as we do. Since you seem to have this think figured out, how are we going to pay off the $60 Trillion unfunded liability that is Social Security and Medicare (and that doesn't include the national debt). Where does the money come from? And don't say the rich. If you read anything at all you will know that a 100% tax rate on people earning over $250K/year is not enough to pay off these bills.
